Karnataka Agriculture Minister has said that 'farmers who kill themselves by committing suicide do so as their minds are weak'. When asked if the govt policies are the reason for farmer suicides, the minister responded that farmers commit suicide because their minds are weak. 'The policies are not responsible for farmer suicides. This statement coming from the agricultural minister himself has sparked controversy. The Karnataka Agri minister is being slammed for trivializing farmer suicides. Earlier, in the month of December, the minister even went on to say that the farmers who commit suicide are cowards. He seemed to be unaware and indifferent to the ground reality.
