Sunday, March 19th 2-4pm at the Luscombe Farms at 1303. W. Foster Crossing Anna, TX 75409.
Eminent domain: the power of the state to take private property for public use for the payment of just compensation.
This is going on today in Anna, TX. Let me tell you our story.
The Luscombe family heritage dates back to the 1800’s with the original Luscombe homestead being built in Anna in 1913. The family grew with the land and the Luscombe farm became a community in itself. The path for horse drawn farming equipment became what is now the two lane country road, Foster Crossing. Our family heritage embodies the spirit of Anna, TX which is pictured in Anna's logo; a grandmother pointing to a star to signify heritage, history, and family roots.
In 2004 the city, county and a developer made a handshake agreement with the luscombe FAMILIES that when it came time to widen Foster Crossing Road it would be done behind our homes instead of through them..
In late 2016 the city approached us to secure a water line easement agreement. It was in that meeting we learned the city had reversed the 2004 agreement and the road is scheduled to go between our homes again.
The city REFUSES to acknowledge the road has anything to do with the water line easement, however, there is a reason they moved the road back between us – once again putting our families at risk. We are concerned as well for the history, heritage and legacy of Collin county which is at risk as well.
Because we are not being given an opportunity to present our concerns we have decided to grant ourselves the right to fair and equal representation and ask you to join us this Sunday, March 19th 2-4pm at the Luscombe Farms at 1303. W. Foster Crossing Anna, TX 75409. Go to E-I-E-I-NO .com to learn more and to sign our petition.
We are standing for all land owners – even the ones who don’t know their land is at risk…yet.
