The under $10 DJI Mavic Pro landing gear solves the issues of landing and taking off from rough uneven surfaces.
You can fold it with the landing gear still on there but obviously it does stick out. However they can be pulled off and installed in like 3 seconds and can be stored in the side mavic pouch.
It is sturdy, functions well and can be easily be taken off and install within seconds.
