The way soldiers are trained in Germany is constantly evolving as the lessons learned in theatre are quickly used to reshape the way things are done in pre-deployment preparation. With just over 11,000 troops, Sennelager is the second largest garrison in British Forces Germany. Around 3,000 are getting ready for likely deployment to Afghanistan at the start of Herrick 15 later this year. Geoff Meade has been looking at how soldiers are training using skills that are both time tested and state-of-the-art.
