'Gemini Rue' is an old-school sci-fi adventure game by Joshua Nuernberger and the indie developer Wadjet Eye, and is one of those rare entertainment experiences that completely stole my heart, for many reasons. One of them: I remember how I used to spend hours just lurking around the game and really doing nothing with the character, completely captivated by the atmospheres, especially that of the city under rain, which sounded so soothing and relaxing to me.
Because of that, I decided to mix an ambience in order to re-create that particular atmosphere, as faithfully as I could, but making it a tiny bit more elaborated for your enjoyment, and mine.
Let me take you to the District 7, on planet Barracus, where everything happens under vigorous pouring rain and the supersonic rumble of spaceships, leaving and entering the atmosphere, to and from the Spaceport that orbits far above the planet.
It's a mix packed with calm and mysteriousness, a natural power with a flavour of sci-fi and noir. It's really distinctive and it also makes a unique and unusual addition to the Quiet Cy-Fi series.
I really really hope you guys enjoy it (and, for those who actually played the game, I hope that I've succeded in summoning the atmosphere of the game into your mind).
Use it for relaxation, meditation, study, work, introspection, whatever you need it for. Just close your eyes and immerse yourself into it.
Enjoy the rain and chill out while I prepare the next Quiet Cy-Fi video for you.
Credits where credit's due:
► Sounds used for rain: [ Ссылка ] [ Ссылка ] [ Ссылка ] [ Ссылка ] [ Ссылка ] [ Ссылка ] [ Ссылка ] (yes! They are plenty! But that's complexity for you)
► Spaceships and shuttles are mostly artifacts of Audacity, but two of them are actually real airplanes: [ Ссылка ] & [ Ссылка ]
► The voice of the announcer is nothing more than post-processed TTS output (the funny part is that it sounds ridiculously similar to the one that's in the game, and it wasn't necessary my intention)
As usual, you can download the full VBR mp3 [99.2 Mb!] [ Ссылка ] (download usually works better with Google Chrome)
It should be loopable.

Final note:
Before you ask: no, what you hear is not the audio recorded from the game. You are seeing a short loop of game footage because I just love how they animated the rain, and it simply gets me hypnotized; what you hear is the ambience I mixed.
