The format of the CPA Exam is changing in 2024. Here are five myths about the CPA Evolution. The first myth is that you must pass the core sections first. The fact is that you can take the exams in any order. The second myth is that you can only take a discipline exam once. The fact is if you fail a discipline exam you can retake that discipline or switch to another discipline at any time. The third myth is that you must take a discipline that matches your career or job. The fact is that you should take the discipline you’re most likely to pass. The next myth is if you pass an exam section now, you will have to retake it after Jan. 1, 2024. The fact is any exam you passed after July 1, 2022, will get an extension to June 30, 2025. The final myth is that BEC content is completely going away. The fact is that BEC content will be distributed among four of the six sections of the new CPA Exam.
