How to do divided tank Betta fish filtration. We have two filters in our 10 gallon divided Betta tank. The reason for that is the divider is solid with a few small holes so it's almost like having two separate tanks. We use our DIY filter on one side and the Aqueon quiet flow internal filter on the other. This allows for water movement on each side of the tank. **We do not use heaters in our tanks for most of the year as where we live is very hot and the temperature stays a constant 78-79f. For 2-3 months a year when it is a little cooler we add heaters to all the tanks.
