Avionics And Interior Improved In The Latest Model…
Daher introduced the TBM 910 earlier this year at Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland, FL. Nicolas Chabbert, Senior VP of Daher's U.S. Airplane Business Unit told ANN CEO and Editor in Chief Jim Campbell, that the primary differences between the 900 and the 910 are the avionics, and the interior of the airplane.
Chabbert said that the TBM 910 shares an interior with the flagship TBM 930. Up front, the airplane is built around a Garmin G1000 NXI avionics system. Chabbert said that with 14,000 G1000 units already flying, a lot of pilots are already comfortable with the system, which will help with the transition to the TBM 910.
Chabbert estimates that the company will produce a minimum of seventeen TBM 910s this year, but he personally thinks it will be well over twenty aircraft.
Chabbert said that the TBM 910 is targeted at a different buyer than the TBM 930, and is designed to give a buyer, that might have purchased a TBM 900, "no excuse" not to upgrade to the latest platform.
