A report shows how the UK is gearing and edging closer to a 'cashless society'. 3 in 10 transaction use cash and this trend is set to continue and the reasons why here. As well as the presenters talking about things today.
This issue is occurring more and more in countries around the world, more so than in others and not so much in some as you might expect. For example, in the USA, perhaps people do not have access to credit cards or bank accounts and though there is a coin the $1 dollar bill (note) is incredibly convenient for many people, compared to coins, so that when it is brought up to remove it from circulation due to costs and other factors, it meets stiff resistance and fails. Imagine going to vending machines and the like and lugging coins around with you instead of a simple wallet or purse or just bills in your pocket. Other poorer countries may also rely on cash at this time, but with international tourism and the like, cards are more widely accepted also, so this is the way of the future some time in the future.
