I decided to listen to the great comet almost 3 years after i heard it for the first time. I think i was like, 12? I dunno, I just wanted to expand my horizons on what musicals to listen to (up until that point it was only hamilton and dear evan hansen)
And I have to say....I did not enjoy it back then. I thought it was so incredibly boring, so I just read a plot synopsis on wikipedia, saw some memes, and called it a day. I pretty much forgot about it after it closed.
Recently, I saw a schafrillas video (I can't remember the one) that mentioned the great comet. It kinda just lit a lightbulb in my head, and I decided, hey, why not listen to it again, for the nostalgia or whatever?
It was so much better (and funnier) the second time! I guess it's because I'm a bit older now, and I'm not on a crusade to listen to every musical ever. I can just chill, and appreciate the absurdity in a new light.
I might continue animating the musical if I feel like it. I have a lot of other projects going on, and it might take a bit of time. And I also wanted to steer clear of animating musicals (especially relatively popular ones) because there's already so many good ones on yt. But I guess this is just my way of showing appreciation for this musical.
It was always such a shame I couldn't see it live, I heard it was beautiful. I just hope it could be revived soon
Toodles, MOGSS
