Russian missile strike hits Kyiv: historic Cathedral, six embassies damaged. A massive Russian missile strike on Kyiv damaged six embassies, St. Nicholas Cathedral, and multiple buildings, killing one and injuring 12. Ukrainian air defences intercepted all five Iskander-M ballistic missiles, but wreckage caused significant damage. The embassies of Albania, Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Portugal sustained damage. However, no diplomatic casualties were reported in the attack. The Russian Defence Ministry claimed the strike targeted a Ukrainian SBU command centre missile facilities, and a U.S.-made Patriot system. “All targets have been hit,” it stated. Ukrainian officials condemned the attack on St. Nicholas Cathedral, calling it a blow to cultural heritage.
