(18 Dec 2019) Hundreds of protesters gathered in San Francisco Tuesday night ahead of a House of Representatives vote on articles of impeachment against US President Donald Trump.
Liberal groups organised hundreds of similar demonstrations across the country.
The gatherings were smaller than other recent mass protests that began with the millions-strong Women's Marches the day after Trump's inauguration.
Some demonstrators attributed that to "Trump fatigue" by activists who've been protesting his administration for three years.
Recent public opinion polls show the country divided over whether to remove Trump from office for pressing Ukraine to investigate his political rivals.
The House will likely vote to impeach Wednesday after the Associated Press found that a majority of lawmakers plan to vote in favor of the two articles.
House Democrats are accusing the president of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress
If the articles are approved, it would be just the third time in the US history that a sitting president has been impeached.
Trump has condemned the impeachment inquiry, calling it an abuse of power by Democrats.
