You can make a simple electric motor from a magnet, a battery and a piece of copper wire! It's called a homopolar motor and while it's not the most efficient motor, it's a great way to see how electric motors work!
Please be very careful when using the neodymium magnets. NEVER put them in your mouth. If swallowed, call the emergency number in your country, as they can get stuck inside you (particularly if you swallow more than one). Keep them away from electronics, including medical devices like pacemakers.
