I've spent a lot of time watching tips about how to get Ender Pearls quickly. The problem is that most of the videos show you farms made in The End, which doesn't help if you haven't got enough to open a portal yet. Here's my collection of techniques for getting a lot of Ender Pearls quickly. I was able to get 7 in two nights and I consider this slower than average.

The biggest tip I can give you is to use a sword with Looting III but not any Fire Aspect enchantments. As you can see in the video, when killed with a Looting III sword the Endermen are more likely to drop pearls, and there's a chance they'll drop multiple.

It took me a while to realize that the Endermen weren't coming back because the sword I was using had Fire Aspect. This sets them ablaze and they just warp all over the place until they die. This makes it a bit harder to aquire a proper enchantment, and Fire Aspect is a likely outcome of enchanting. But even if you don't have time to enchant a bunch of swords my hunting technique will help you harvest Ender Pearls safely.
