In that difficult summer of 1991, I went to Novigrad for a drink with my comrades several times. In beautiful sunny and hot days I watched as many of my comrades boarded the m/t "KLIMNO" which was transporting them to the village Kruševo, which was surranded those days. Seeing them armed to the teeth like that, I thought " Chetniks and JNA have no chance against us 🇭🇷 " 🙂. Unfortunately, I was wrong. m/t " Klimno "was soon destroyed by the enemy, the Maslenički bridge was destroyed, we had to leave our positions to avoid being encircled. The attack on Zadar from land, sea and air began. My command transferred me to the first line of defense of the city, where we still managed to stop a far superior enemy. 07.10. In 1991, a truce was agreed which lasted until the enemy army completely withdrew from all barracks in the city with all weapons. The war then continued with all its ferocity, but our defense lines were firm and impenetrable until the action "Maslenica" when we showed them whose Croatia it was and pushed them far from Zadar, but still not enough for the range of their cannons. so we finally had to solve it in the action "Storm" Bye bye Chetniks. From then on, you can go to the sea, but only as foreign tourists 😄
Dear Chetnicks If it will make you happy, I will tell you that you are in no worse position than I am today. I can also go to the sea only as a tourist and never in a season because it is too expensive for me. The season is reserved for foreigners and rich Croats. You see ? Next time be clever and don't lose your and my time. Peace
