President Barack Obama told leaders and heads of state meeting in Naypyitaw on Thursday that the United States is committed to strengthening its relationship with the region.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit on Wednesday and the East Asia Summit on Thursday has bought together the ten member-states - and several other world leaders.
"I intend to continue to invest in these efforts not only during our summits but more importantly on a day to day basis", Obama said at the start of of Thursday's talks.
Leaders present include Obama, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, South Korean President Park Geun-hye and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Millions of dollars are spent hosting Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the East Asia (ASEAN) summits, and Myanmar - which has emerged only recently from a half century of dictatorship - ran the two-day event in its purpose-built capital Naypyitaw with great efficiency.
