There are many holes that can be poked to my comparison, but it was never meant to be a scientific experiment. I was playing the bridge pickups, every pot full on, using the same fender deluxe reverb amp set to 5 through the same IR adding only some tape slap back to all tracks. But the strings are different in gauge and used-ness. One could argue I could have dialed in a different amp setting for every guitar to help them sound better. Or could have rolled back the tone on the strat pickup a little. Anyway it was useful for me at least to confirm I like the tele best for country chicken pickin'.
