MASON, Ohio (WKRC) - Some of the best tennis players in the world will be in Mason soon to take part in the Western & Southern Open.
When they arrive at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, they will see some big changes. The facility has a new $25-million addition. The new building is 41,000 square-feet. It's the first area with box seats in a completely enclosed area.
There are three floors of ticketed areas available to fans at various prices. There's also a luxury area available. It also provides views of both Main Court and Center Court no matter what level you're on.
A new economic impact study was released, detailing how the tennis tournament benefits the region. The expected economic impact is about $123 million -- a significant increase. In past years, the economic impact has been around $68 million.
The Western & Southern Open runs from Aug. 11 to Aug. 19.
