On 19 July 2023, the FAO Liaison Office in Geneva in collaboration with the FAO Inclusive Rural Transformation and Gender Equality Division (ESP) organized the virtual event FAO in Geneva Social Protection Dialogue Series - "Social Protection and Agrifood Systems"
The Social Protection Dialogue discussed how a growing number of countries and partners are interested in enhancing linkages between national social protection and agrifood systems. What was emphasized was the social protection systems are critical components of a more inclusive and sustainable agrifood systems transformation, as they contribute to reducing poverty, improving food security and nutrition, facilitating access to decent jobs, ensuring greater natural resource management, and strengthening resilience to shocks.
