Learn how to play Julia, as performed by John Lennon released in 1968 on The White Album (actual title of the album is actually "The Beatles"). A beautiful and haunting ballad dedicated to his mother Julia, who was tragically killed by an off duty policeman who was drunk driving and hit her with his car when John was 17. The Beatles travelled to Rishikesh, India in early 1968 with a number of other folks to a spiritual retreat, one of the participants with them was Donovan the folk/pop singer and he taught John the finger picking technique. John used it on this song as well as Dear Prudence, a little on Sun King, and probably others that I can't think of at the moment :-).
The lesson covers the fingerpicking technique and all the chord shapes used in the song. A fantastic exercise to develop independent left and right hand fingerpicking technique.
