Bmw 7 series 2023 vs. Audi A8 2022 vs. Mercedes 2022
Mercedes-Benz 2022 C-Class brings in a range of high-tech features derived from our flagship S-Class.
Central to the driving experience is the all-new, best-in-class 11.9" central touchscreen multimedia display. Just like in the S-Class, the portrait orientation enables full-screen navigation that's uniquely user-friendly. Nearby, the freestanding 12.3" digital instrument panel is tilted six degrees towards the driver – a design choice that underlines the vehicle's sporty performance and is exclusive to the C-Class. Within the screen, drivers can customize their aesthetic, choosing from Sporty, Classic or Understated display styles, and three modes: Navigation, Assistance and Service.
Elsewhere in the interior, a special seat design uses layers and enveloping surfaces to create a visual impression of lightness. The dashboard is coated with ARTICO, and a range of available trim options showcase the surrounding features. Plus, the vehicle interior becomes even more intelligent with the second generation of MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience). That includes the "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant, integrated music streaming and more. A fingerprint scanner in the central display even allows you to log into MBUX quickly and securely so you can activate your personal settings.
Audi's answer to the Mercedes-Benz S-class is the 2022 A8 sedan, which is also an Editors' Choice winner. It offers a spacious interior and every conceivable luxury and convenience feature, which helps justify its nearly six-figure starting price. The A8's styling is expertly rendered to look ritzy but restrained, and fans of the smaller A4 and A6 sedans will find the A8 handsome. Its cabin, however, is far more comfortable than those four doors and offers similar space and features as the S-class and the BMW 7-series, the Audi's other natural rival. Massaging seats for both front and rear passengers are available and Audi also includes a host of driver-assists as standard. Drivers looking for more oomph should consider the performance-oriented S8 model, which we review separately. The BMW 7-series has never quite enjoyed the same clout as the Mercedes S-class, but the latest G70 generation is here to make sure that the world doesn't forget that it still serves as the Roundel's flagship model. The 2023 7-series introduces a new design language for the brand with a distinctive front end and is chock full of new features including a movie-theater-style screen and a hands-free highway driver-assistance feature. It is also part of BMW's expanding lineup of electric models, as the lineup now includes an EV version called the i7 that shares its body and interior with the gas-powered sedan but swaps in a large battery pack and electric motors.
