Here I show different methods of making the hitch on bobbins when preparing them for lace making. First for bobbins wound anti-clockwise as seen from the head (usually used for linnen thread because of its inherent twist), then for clockwise wound thread (usually cotton or silk). I usually always wind them anti-clockwise even with cotton since I couldn't make out any disadvantage.
I wind the bobbins using a helper thread - there are videos here on YouTube that show how to do it. It's faster than using a winding machine. See e.g. [ Ссылка ] or [ Ссылка ]
