The vehicle can be equipped with the control module for KSM external data interchange upon request. This makes more extensive access options available to vehicle systems.
In addition, other limiting functions for vehicle speed and engine speed are made possible. To monitor and evaluate certain operating statuses, the vehicle body control unit can access various different signal outputs. In addition to engine speed, eight additional outputs can be programmed into the system. If necessary, these can be assigned to all the signals stored for the vehicle CAN, e.g. "Transmission in neutral" or "Parking brake applied".
CAN-compliant control units in the vehicle body electronics can even communicate with the vehicle CAN via the KSM control module.
