Natalie Castro, Registered Dietitian at Baptist Health South Florida, says it is important to read the food label because you have to know what is in the food that you are eating.
"When you have a food allergy or intolerance or sensitivity you can't leave it up to the food product or to the person preparing the food. You have to be your own advocate," she highlights.
She recommends reading every single thing on the label, each ingredient and getting familiar with those ingredients you have to avoid future issues.
