President-elect Donald Trump has indicated that he will consider granting pardons to individuals involved in the 2021 US Capitol riot on his first day back in office next month.
"These individuals are enduring tremendous hardship," he stated during his initial broadcast network interview since his victory in the November election, which aired on NBC's Meet the Press.
The Republican leader also expressed his intention to abolish automatic citizenship for those born in the United States, while simultaneously offering to collaborate with Democrats to assist certain undocumented immigrants who were brought to the country as children.
In the extensive interview, recorded on Friday, Trump committed to issuing "a significant number" of executive orders, addressing issues related to immigration, energy, and the economy, following his inauguration on January 20.
