The Malaga Christmas lights are always spectacular but the addition of the light show on the Cathedral made them even more stunning.
If you’re coming to Spain over the festive period you really must make time to see them. They will make your Christmas holiday very special.
The shows on the Cathedral and on Calle Larios are at a random time each day to prevent to big a crowd gathering. Though in our and our guests experiences they have been between 7-7:30pm. The Catherdral light show has been first allowing time to walk up to Calle Larios. Note the Larios lights stay on permanently but they run one show each day timed to music which is great fun.
You will know that the light show is due to start at the Cathedral because you will see crowds gather. Then slowly, slowly, lights around the square are turned off before a 3 minute countdown begins. The show lasts for around ten minutes. There is underground parking close to the Cathedral and from the Cathedral it is an easy short walk to Calle Larios.
We think that the Malaga lights are some of the best in a Europe, but don’t take our word for it - come and visit. Oh and did we mention that there are two Christmas markets too!
