There is nothing like having a cozy home to escape to at the end of a long day or when you are dealing with tough times. But a house without furniture isn’t much of a home. That is what two women recovering from hardships found themselves with until Lexel Moving stepped in to help deliver new furnishings from the Fresh Start Furniture Bank. A volunteer-run charity in Hudson, MA, Fresh Start provides free furniture and home goods to people in need.
Florence and Cindy have personal stories of fighting to get their lives on track after experiencing a significant loss. For Florence, a single mother, it was the loss of her job and her ability to support herself and her two children. For Cindy, it was the loss of her spouse, which caused her to spiral into depression, alcohol addiction and homelessness. With a referral to and donations from Fresh Start, both women can now create that cozy home they can indulge in as they work on rebuilding their lives.
Florence and Cindy had fun selecting their furniture from Fresh Start’s broad inventory (all donated). Then, Lexel Moving painstakingly wrapped each piece as we do for anyone we assist with moving belongings from one location to another.
At Lexel Moving, we like playing a role in helping people make their house a home. As Florence attests , after we delivered and unwrapped her furniture for her, “It’s coming from their heart.”
