This is a case about a contract dispute between the Myers and Clouse regarding the management of a tavern. Jerry Myers, a convicted felon, signed the contract, but his criminal record made the contract illegal. The Missouri Division of Liquor Control took away the liquor license after Patricia Myers voluntarily gave it up. Clouse sued the Myers and won, but the Myers appealed the decision. The court found that Clouse entered into the contract with knowledge that it was a partnership agreement, not an employment/management contract, and that there was no evidence of fraudulent misrepresentation. The most relevant facts are the legality of the contract and the lack of proof of fraudulent misrepresentation.
