Mike Mbuvi Sonko has taken over the reins of power in Nairobi with the promise of bettering the lives of residents. Speaking after taking the oath of office, Sonko declared his tenure would be dedicated to working for the people and responding to their needs.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was in attendance promised to work closely with the incoming county government. And as our reporter Kennedy Murithi reports, outgoing governor Evans Kidero handed over the instruments of power despite having earlier indicated that he would contest the results.
