This video is of moving a Liberty Lincoln 25 gun safe down into basement via a staircase (a 90 degree landing is coming up). Having and properly using the right equipment makes all the difference.

If you think you want to just use a regular dolly, trying to do the bump and slide method; be very careful. Doing that method with a light weight safe (under 300lbs) is doable with the right amount of man power. But even at that weight, let alone with a much heavier safe. Bumping the safe down to the next step can have very bad outcomes. We can't count how many botched jobs we've come in and fixed for customers.

Bumping and sliding the safe down to the next step usually leads to crushing/snapping the tread (place where your foot lands) and this as you can expect usually ends up with people getting seriously hurt and houses getting destroyed. Let alone your brand new safe getting trashed. Once something this heavy starts moving, it wont stop until hitting something harder... ie like your foundation.
