It may be pretty normal to us now - having seen it in every Iron Man outing of the last 15 years - but back in 2008, this shot: of Tony Stark inside the helmet of his Iron Man Suit was the literally first shot of the kind. Across all cinema… no one had ever seen anything like this before….

And this meant that, for the filmmakers, putting these “in helmet” shots the movie was actually a massive gamble because they had no idea if the audience would accept this: new, weird and experimental piece of filmmaking - because if they didn't then Iron Man would always be remembered as that: “one weird film with those in helmet shots that didn't make any sense".
