Watch BE's complete story about menopause rage, hot flashes and surgically induced menopause: [ Ссылка ]
In this episode we meet BE. BE entered into menopause after having had a hysterectomy to remove fibroids. She was unprepared for the abrupt start of her symptoms, particularly severe hot flashes as nobody had mentioned that surgically induced menopause can make symptoms more extreme.
BE also experienced intense mood swings and scared herself on at least one occasion when she succumbed to road rage and literally ‘lost her mind’ for about 5 minutes before regaining some control.
BE sought help for her symptoms, and she finally found relief with an acupuncturist who helped her resolve some of her pain and her mood swings. BE is now through the worst of the menopausal transition and is very content, living her free life and finally at peace with her body.
Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths of the uterus that often cause pelvic discomfort or infertility. Perimenopause and menopause can be a time of increased risk for developing fibroids or seeing growth in existing fibroids. Solutions to this problem can vary depending on an individual’s age, health, and personal goals.
Available treatments include medications, minimally invasive procedures such as endometrial ablation, or surgery to remove the fibroids or the entire uterus (hysterectomy). For many women, a healthy lifestyle including exercise, adequate rest and relaxation, and stress management are part of regimens used to manage symptoms associated with uterine fibroids. Taking action on any combination of these topics can improve overall health in addition to helping manage symptoms.
