Tropical Storm Bret is expected to impact the Lesser Antilles later Thursday; Tropical Depression Four is expected to become Tropical Storm Cindy over the next day.
On the heels of Tropical Storm Bret, another tropical depression has formed off the African coast, something that is unusual this early in the hurricane season.
Tropical Depression Four developed Thursday morning in the Atlantic, according to the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center.
The tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and is far away from land right now — about 1,295 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. It's moving west at 12 mph.
As Tropical Storm Bret continues its journey across the Atlantic, it's just a little stronger going into Thursday.
Bret has continued to gain some strength over the last few days and is expected to move over the Leeward Islands by Thursday night.
The tropical storm is expected to bring the risk of heavy rain, gusty winds and dangerous ocean conditions to the Caribbean islands over the next day or so.
