April was Bowel Cancer Awareness month, we hosted a Facebook Live chat with consultant gastroenterologist Dr Ed Seward. Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK. Nearly all bowel cancers arise when there is an abnormal growth of cells in the large bowel (colon and rectum). Most begin as non-cancerous polyps that can be easily removed if caught early enough. Dr Seward works at University College Hospital and is involved in several projects to diagnose cancer earlier. Your questions about signs, symptoms or treatment of bowel cancer, were answered by Ed.
