Mogens Graae lived as a trapper in the harsh North East Greenland from 1946-48. Polar trappers lived alone and isolated with their dogs most of the time, in very harsh conditions up to one year at a time. The clothing and gear they used was extremely primitive compared to the Arctic gear of today. After his return Mogens Graae began to invent and develop equipment that would improve the conditions of arctic hunters and explorers, and founded Musk Ox. Shortly after the Sirius Patrol started to use Mogens Graae’s survival gear.

Today Musk Ox still produce Mogens Graae´s timeless and unique designs, staying true to Musk Ox’s utilitarian heritage.
