Gujjars or Gaddi Gujjars are a Himalayan tribe mainly living in different parts of Himachal Pradesh. Gujjar community are a community of herders by profession. While Gaddi people mainly herd sheep and goats , Gujjars keep cows and buffaloes as cattle. Gujjars are quite similar to the Bakarwals of Kashmir. Mostly Gujjar tribe live in the lower regions during winter and go to the higher altitudes during summer to graze their animals. Some have now permanently settled in the mountains.
