In 2014 I bought a remote mining claim deep in the Montana wilderness sight unseen. There is no road access to it so it could only be accessed by walking in. It is totally surrounded by forest service land. The seller had never been to the property! He had inherited it. It was mostly untouched since miners left it in the 30s. I could not bring my sawmill in so I built the cabin with minimal tools using the nice dead standing lodgepole trees that are abundant there. While building the cabin I found tools, artifacts and even buried treasure (ore) on the land!
