Engage the layers from the most primitive to the most complex.
Methods you can use
1. Reptilian brain:
Am I safe? - 8 seconds attention span – Break the pattern
- Pauses
- Change your voice
- Use sounds (ahaaaa, ouch, bamm)
2. Mammalian brain:
Am I loved? - approx 10. mins attention span – break expectations
- Engage all five senses
- Use humour
- Do something unexpected
Emotions form a vehicle for content!
3. Human brain (neocortex):
WII – FM (What’s in it for me?)
Know your audience! What do they need?
