Nunningen, Switzerland - a small and unassuming village with a population of just over 1800 people. Not exactly the place to go and look for rally history. However, one of those 1800 inhabitants happens to bear a hidden treasure.
His name is Bruno Ianniello and he was fortunate enough to get his hands on the remaining original parts for the Lancia Delta S4 Stradale and Group B cars in the late Nineties.
Due to the early termination of the Group B rally series, Lancia never finished building the 200 cars required to pass homologation rules. Exact numbers were never published but low estimates believe that less than 50 units of the Stradale were ever built by Lancia. After that, Lancia scrapped the majority of the parts. However, the remaining parts changed hands a couple of times until probably the largest assortment of parts ended up with an Italian company named Gianetti L-M.. A company to which Bruno had some connections and by pure coincidence, he was fortunate enough to get an offer to buy the parts.
Today, Bruno is continuing the legacy of these cars and the myth of Group B. He is regularly present at Hillclimb racing events in Europe, where he or his clients race these cars to their fullest.
It was a real pleasure spending the day filming with Bruno. He struck us as a humble person that just likes to pursue and share his passion, or even more so a dream he can actually live every day.
For better understanding, we have added German subtitles on the video itself. English ones are of course available too.
