Kotor is known for its fortified city walls, nestled in a river canyon below limestone cliffs. This city in Montenegro has become a popular destination in recent years and is worth the trip! Be sure to head on over this way to check out Kotor sights like Stari Grad, Forts Škaljari, Trojica, Gorazda, and Šanik, San Giovanni Castle, and Church of Our Lady of Remedy and St. Nicholas Church, just to name a few.
We managed to take a flight to the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica and took a bus (about 2.5 hours) to Kotor, where we stayed for four nights in April. The weather wasn't the best during our time there, with the best weather coming on the day we spent in Budva. Nonetheless, we took advantage of breaks in the clouds to explore the old town. We also hiked up to San Giovanni, otherwise known as Kotor Fort to get a great view of the Bay of Kotor.
As if this view wasn't enough, I took my drone out for a spin to get some aerial shots of the whole area. There were no issues and I truly hope to return to this awesome city at some point in the near future. For more information on our trip to Kotor, be sure to check out my blog post here: [ Ссылка ]

Drone laws in Montenegro: In order to fly in this part of Montenegro (which sits within the Tivat Airport Control Zone), one must first apply to the Montenegrin Transport Authority. This will allow you permission to fly within the country. Further permits are required to get approval for flying in all the areas where this footage was taken. For instance, I was given a 1.5 hour window for drone flights up to 150 meters each day I was there. This time frame is to ensure fair use of the airspace among drone pilots and also pilots of actual planes coming in. The process took a few weeks but it was worth it in order to fly safely and be in compliance.
