Service Objects is now providing A-CAM location data for small telecoms, so they can comply with the Alternate Connect America Model.
This money is provided by the FCC and is called A-CAM funding. It will support bringing high speed broadband and high speed internet services to over 630,000 addresses in 43 states. The total amount of this potential funding, over the next five years, is $4.5 billion dollars.
The government established the Connect America Fund to encourage and compensate small telecom providers to provide this access. By providing this access, we'll be able to hook up and wire and get high speed internet to the most rural places in America.
So, Service Objects is participating. Service Objects is helping by identifying these locations, or these addresses, that need broadband service most. We're using a combination of address data, phone data, geo maps or satellite maps, census data, as well as other data sources to help identify those most rural locations and help get them with A-CAM funding.
There's a lot of pros and cons on deriving data. We think we've identified the best method to do so. Driving around the state or using Google maps is terribly inaccurate.
First off, driving around is very expensive. It requires gas, local knowledge, and in some cases, you can't even get to these properties.
Services like online maps, like Google maps, while they do identify the location, it doesn't have critical information such as lat/long, GeoID, Geo Census, Geo Block information. This data is critical if you're going to upload that information to the HUBB.
We are using several different data sources that help compile this data. These data sources include United States Postal Service, phone data, or census data, or even satellite geo-spatial data. So, we can identify these addresses in these rural locations.
We can address them, even if they don't have standard addresses, and you can submit them through the FCC's HUBB website.
By doing this, by maximizing your A-CAM benefits, you can create or unearth between 20 to 50% more locations for reimbursements.
It is significantly less expensive than driving around. To drive around, the service might cost you $13 to $15 dollars per address.
When we're looking at it from using computers and geo-spatial maps and satellite maps, we're able to attach this data for significantly less. In some cases, one tenth the normal cost.
You're also dealing with a single source provider. We're able to provide all the locations that you need for your A-CAM reimbursement. So, you don't have to have a hodge-podge or a collection of different data providers bringing in data.
Service Objects will be the one stop shop there.
You only pay for the data that gets accepted by the HUBB or that data that gets accepted for reimbursement by the FCC.
The data provided will be in exact conformance or exact specifications with the HUBB portal.
We'll provide new data for you on a monthly basis.
We provide the most accurate data available.
We have been in business for over 15 years.
We have processed and validated over 2.8 billion contact records already in the United States and Canada.
We've been doing this for over 2,400 other customers including other telecom providers, just like yourself.
We provide 24 hour technical support and 92% of our business is from repeat and recurring customers.
