Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann suspended 7 jail officials in connection with the Goindwal jail gang war that took place last month in Tarn Taran district. The action was taken after the video of the prison clash went viral on social media. Two inmates, identified as Mandeep Singh alias Toofan of Batala and Mohna alias Manmohan Singh of Budhlada, were killed during a clash in jail by fellow inmates. Both were the accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala. Another inmate, identified as Keshaw, sustained injuries. Out of the seven officials suspended, five policemen were arrested, including the Superintendent of Central Jail, Goindwal Sahib for dereliction of duty and connivance with gangsters.
