“Successful and productive,” says Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Enrique Manalo, sharing his perspective on President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s recently concluded Working Visit to Berlin, Germany.
In an interview with RTVM, Secretary Manalo highlights a "future full of promises" between the Philippines and Germany in terms of bilateral relations and renewed cooperation. He notes the productive engagements and meetings of the President, particularly with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz that tackled a wide range of bilateral matters, including regional issues such as in the South China Sea, Indo-Pacific concerns and the situation in Ukraine.
“They also discussed increasing bilateral cooperation, technical cooperation, maritime cooperation, trade and investments. In other words strengthening our relationship with Germany in a broad range of areas,” he states.
The DFA Secretary joins the delegation of the Chief Executive during his trip to Germany — the first President to do so since the last ten years.
