In this video I show you how to make the best DIY lighting fixture for water turtles, a fixture for basking and UVB lights I made for an aquarium with water turtles (red-eared slider turtles or Trachemys scripta elegans), using cheap easy to find materials.
The materials I used:
- One UV-B bulb for turtles (25 W)
- One halogen bulb (28 W)
- Two E-27 100 W lamp holders
- One organizer box (40 x 32 x 22 cms)
- 110 mm PVC tube x 33 cms
- Three 110 mm end caps
- Double light switch
- Parallel wire: 1 or 3 mts (if you don’t use a PC cord as I did)
- 2 bits of wood 12 x 17 cms
- 3 aluminium beer cans, 2 for reflectors and 1 for the road.
