There are certain places in Sicily that take your breath away, Pollina and Castelbuono are one of them.
In Pollina you have the evidence of along these green spaces, is the famed Manna tree, which grows in the Madonie mountains of Sicily. In July and August, the Manna tree's resin is harvested and collected for many uses, the most popular being medicinal. Just before the end of summer, small gashes are cut in the trunks of these precious trees.
You can also see that in Pollina there is a church that has baroque style the only one in Sicily that has the Madonna Mary with her breast out to feed Jesus, amazing, breathtaking and also one that you can simply continue to gaze at and understand the artist who created it.
In Castelbuono you have the beautiful mountains of the Madonie. The Madonie Mountains are located on the northern coast of Sicily, about 70 km east of Palermo. They belong to the Sicilian Apennines, like the Nebrodi and the Peloritani Mountains. The main mountain — the Carbonara Massif (1979m above sea level) — is the second-highest peak in Sicily, after Mount Etna.
You also definitely need a tour guide, in the pictures is my tour guide Laetizia from Natures Explorers Sicily.
She is an expert in this province and knows all about the area, you can do hiking with her and her partner Mario.
