Developed by Mike Riedel and published by First Star Software in 1984
New QHD recording of this awesome C64 game. The original Spy vs. Spy is, hands down, one of the most innovative games to ever come out on the platform. The fact it released in 1984, right near the start of the machine's lifespan, is remarkable - this was a time when many games still relied on crude, character-based graphics, let alone the sophisticated split-screen gameplay on show here.
As for this longplay, I wanted to try and showcase the effects of all the traps in the trapulator, which was surprisingly difficult to do. At higher difficulty levels the enemy AI always knows where you've placed the traps and immediately disarms them, but I think I managed to kill it with everything at least once.
