This video shows an example of how the free 3-D artist's modeling tool Blender can be used to help design a roll-off roof observatory. The model uses Blender bones and the Pose mode to rotate the telescope elements to ensure that they clear the observatory structure and determine how well the telescope can view areas close to the horizon.
