If you are seriously considering becoming a college professor, you need to pursue your aspirations - I think - with a full understanding of how difficult the academic job market is. In this video, I will walk you through my three year experience on the market from a recent PhD to a first year tenure-track assistant professor, to jumping back into the market to find another, better tenure track position.
I try to be as transparent and matter of fact as I can in the video. Could the video have been shorter and covered less, yes. It might have made it punchier and I'm positive that would have lead to better retention numbers. BUT, the point here is to chronicle my experience on the job market so that it might be helpful to someone who is thinking of pursuing a career in academy.

I'll work on correcting the auto-generated subtitles tomorrow morning!! I promise.
I make this content as a part of my pedagogy, as service to a community of intellectual laborers and educators of which I feel apart. The thoughts and opinions are my own and don't necessarily represent the intentions, thoughts, or opinions of any institution I have been, am a part of, or might join in the future. This video is a reflection of my experience.
