A polar plunge from the ship's marina is a surprisingly popular rite of passage for brave Antarctic guests. Just as Tina was working up the courage to take a dip in the icy waters, a pod of curious Minke whales appeared and stayed for a while to check everyone out. Having a front row seat to the magical encounter was a soul restoring experience. When the inquisitive whales had moved on, it was Tina's turn to jump into the -1° water. She breathlessly declared that the feeling was electric and highly recommended the experience!
