Bilder der Berührung (Images of Contingence) at the gallery Zak Branicka in Berlin presents works by Valie Export that deal with expressions of physical contact and its implications. The title of the show is derived from Valie Export's installation work Fragmente der Bilder einer Berührung (Fragments of Images of Contingence) of 1994, in which light bulbs are rhythmically immersed into cylinders filled with milk, used oil, or water. This major work of the exhibition is complemented by video works and drawings, and various photographs and archive material that documents Valie Exports long-standing artistic career. The exhibition runs until June 15, 2013.
